Plants growing in solution A were bigger and better because 100% nutrients were present. Plants in B were short of nutrients. The correct quantity of nutrients must be available. Some, eg Iron, manganese and zinc, are required only in trace amounts. Nutrients have to be added periodically to liquid media as growing plants use them up rapidly.
